Douche Bags, wassup?! I’ve been doing a lot of reading and self analyzing and I realized that I tend to spend money foolishly. Truth is, a lot of us work really hard for the money, but spend it too quick. How ever you’re getting money, dirty or clean, that’s none of my business, but I do advise people between the ages of 21 and 30, to invest wisely. Balenciagas, Christian Louboutins, Hublots and BMWs can do absolutely nothing for you when you are old and grey! When I drive around my neighborhood, I’m so confused. How are some of you dressed in $3,000 worth of clothing, but you’re riding a bike, living with your mommy and have no job. But I guess it’s Gucci everything, BANG BANG !
This post was inspired by Fabolous’ recent track, ” Young OG”. “Guns n Butta Baby”, y’all remember that phrase, right? As heard in the classic film “Baby Boy”, when Melvin is trying to tell Jody how important it is to know the difference between “the guns” and “the butta”. Well, “the guns” are assets-things that usually appreciate with time, like gold, diamonds, real estate, art work, stocks and bonds. The butter refers to clothing, cars and jewelry-things that depreciate in value as soon as they are bought.
Why is it that parents spend their whole lives on a 30 year mortgage plan, then turn around and chase their kids out the house to make them find their own homes? One of the best ways to succeed is to allow everybody around you to succeed as well. For a while, I noticed that there are too many families that do not give their children coming up from the concrete jungle, the tools needed to survive and succeed. There are a lot of adults who are salty because they did not receive the opportunity to chase their dreams. Then they turn around and reciprocate the negative energy onto their children by making them fend for themselves.
When you get money and you ain’t never have money before, it’s so easy to squander it. If you’re going splurge, invest in something that will make your money work for you. Before you take that $10,000 you would have used to get a new Jesus piece with diamond studded head band, head down to the bank and see what that $10,000 can do for you. If you’re young, take risks and invest your money. Be wary of all those who give you advice, take the advice cautiously because you don’t know from what place that advice was given. Shoutout to Dr.Dre though. Selling Beats By Dre to Apple for $3 Billion and becoming the first billionaire in hip hop.
Too many of us are out here selfish with our success, just for the image. We’re striving to assimilate into a world that is not necessarily ready for our achievements. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day and Julius Caesar did not build it by himself.
